And she’d only just changed her name, left her past behind and started a new life for herself. They should be bitter enemies, but Dante’s masculine charms and calm, seductive manner make Beth’s heart race. Doesn’t he remember who she is? But Dante steals a deep kiss from her in broad daylight...and that’s only the beginning of his feverish pursuit!

This is a well written story. Beth, aka Jane Mason, was unjustly convicted for possession of drugs. Eight years later after changing her name (legally), she comes face to face with the man who prosecuted her. Her next door neighbor happens to be his younger brother. They meet at a backyard barbeque hosted by the younger brother & his house mate. The older brother finally figures out who she is & warns her off after a session of hot sex that he virtually forces upon her. She leaves to take up permanent residence in a seaside cottage left to her by her best friend & protector in prison. The hero(?) follows her there because he's hoping she's not pregnant after their encounter. Read the book to see what happens next.

The Cost of Her Innocence Mills Boon comics eBook Jacqueline Baird Nina Hatori Reviews

It's ok story.
Honestly, he wasn't anything more than a stocker. And it really looked he should be locked up. I'm not keen on men that force themselves on women. He really needed to fix his attitude.
one of the most stupid book I have ever read. this was an insult to women and we should be outraged. what kind of woman sleeps with a man who thinks so little of her?

only a woman with no self respect, no self esteem, has no pride .
don't read this book please don't read
The Story is totally Off from the Book. The comic storyline is weird to follow. It looks like the comic artist didn't really understand the book story
It is true that Dante is a jerk and does not repent until the very end of the story. However I liked the heroine enough as well as the story that I could still enjoy it. Also even though Dante was at times heartless he was faithful to the heroine and never physically harmed her. If he did cheated or physical abuse her then it would have ruined the story for me. However he did neither of those things. The sexy times were good for a Harlequin Presents and I was fine with the ending.
could handle
I buy tons of Harlequin comics and this is the first time I have ever been prompted to write a review. This story is SO BAD I would give 0 stars if possible. I dunno if it's the artist interpretation or if the original work is just horrible but I have never seen such a desperate male character ever before in my life. From the moment he sees the female lead he is on her even when it comes off rather inappropriate and stalker-ish Things are just rushed and muddled thru and by the end of the story you are left wondering how you made it thru this trash. I think there was a back story with the brother that could have made this more interesting if explored. I just can't say enough bad things about this comic.
What happened to this one Jacqueline Baird?
This book started out ok but the arrogance of Dante and the quickly to forgave Beth got to me.
The ending was rushed, he realized that she was innocent until his "friend" mentioned that
some girl was framed, he did not believe her all along!!!!
I do like the sparring between the two at times but for most part this one is not one of Jacqueline's
better books!!!!!
